The Walking Dead is a critically acclaimed comic series by Robert Kirkman. It has given rise to multiple television adaptations, video games, merchandise, and board games.

The story starts with police officer Rick Grimes waking up from a coma and finding civilization has collapsed. He finds pockets of surviving humans struggling to fend off the risen bodies of the recently dead. Can Rick find his family? Or are they lost to the zombie horde roaming the streets and stalking anything with a pulse?

The Walking Dead is an ongoing comic series first published in 2003. There are currently 23 collected graphic novels in print, as well as deluxe collectors editions.

Miller/McNiven

After a major incident involving super heroes and villains, the US Government moves to enact a hero registration program to track all activity and the secret identities of costumed heroes. The world of superheroes is divided by those who support the act (such as Tony Stark aka Iron Man) and those who oppose it (Captain America). Lines are drawn and characters are caught in the middle as an all out show down seems inevitable.

This landmark series written by Mark Miller is available as a collected graphic novel containing all issues of the Civil War comic series. The story has also been adapted for film in the up coming Captain America: Civil War set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Morrison/Murphy

Joe the Barbarian is the story of an 11 year old boy named Joe who has Type 1 diabetes. When Joe's blood sugar falls, he enters a delirious state and finds himself in a fantasy world filled with dangerous lords, evil hell hounds, and some allies. Joe's adventures in this world parallel his desperate attempt to make it from his bedroom to the kitchen to get the food that will save his life.

Written by the award winning Grant Morrison and drawn by Sean Murphy, Joe the Barbarian is available as a deluxe edition graphic novel packed with beautiful artwork and special features highlighting the development of the story.
